Consolidation of trauma patient data and tissue samples

WP lead: Prof Karim Brohi, London.




Sustainable infrastructure will be established to ensure the standardised collection, consolidation, and distribution of the Consortium’s clinical samples and associated trauma patient data.


The specific objectives are to:

  • Develop an international trauma research registry.
  • Establish a centralised repository for tissue sample management.
  • Standardise prospective collection and dissemination of trauma patient data and samples for research ensuring confidential, ethical and legal compliance.
  • Strengthen Europe’s position as the lead platform for such coordinated, clinical research



  1. Design & establishment of International Trauma Registry; the registry will be accessed via the restricted website of the Knowledge Management Platform.

  2. Establish and populate a centralised Trauma Tissue Biobank.

  3. Establish Standard Operating Procedures.

D2.2 Report on the international trauma repositories: Report describing the structure of the repositories and the SOPs for the secure and quality-assured transfer and storage of patient-linked data and tissues.
